Another rainy Monday morning... the forecast was for snow but rain was flowing as I pedaled the winter bike across the wind plagued bridge.   After grinding out the first day of the week at work I returned home to Cassi with an empty belly and alot of energy to burn.  We decided to continue our clam trials and at that decision, I  saddled up and began pedaling down to the wharf to see what the fisherman had hauled in today.  The options were plenty and the most economical and freshest choice was the Mahogany Clams @ 3.99 for a 2# bag.  I was also given a nice little selection of "chowder" cut whitefish @ 2.99/#.  Total cost $7.49 with the .51 of change going into the donation can to feed & care for the wharf kitties.  From there... I rolled around the Eastern Prom looping up into Monument Square to purchase a bottle of Oyster River Villager White... with the streets dry and the wind calming a tad, I proceeded to lap the peninsula a few times before winding down along the picturesque setting we call the Western Prom !  Then it was back home to cook up the feast...  a simple preparation of fresh ingredients made it an easy 15 min cooking event... Chop Garlic, chop onions... add to buttered pan and pot of boiling water. Add the washed clams to the boiling water and cover... add the fish to the pan of buttered garlic and onions and turn on high heat for 5 minutes breaking fish up a bit with spatula...add 1# baby spinach from Fishbowl Farm and a pack of seaweed noodles made from 100% maine kelp... turn heat to low and cover till spinach turns to mush !  Serve and enjoy...

A New England "Saag" on the first day of March... spring is in the air, gotta order my seeds for the garden this week !
