Finally the Monument Square Farmers Market came and there was a wonderful reward for us... ASPARAGUS !  I made sure Cassi knew the importance of getting an early start to the market, you can't count on the farmers having stock to last from 7am - 2pm and with me not rolling back onto the peninsula until close to 2, the chances of me scoring anything special are slim to none.  Anyhow Cassi got there early and picked up everything on the list I left her... 3# Asparagus, 1 Bag Spinach, 2 Bags Salad Greens and some Cherry Tomatoes !  My job was to swing by the fish market on my return route from work and grab some fish to pair with the asparagus.  I chose the mates cut cod @ 4.99/# .  To add a little spark to the fish I boiled some carrots and taters then pureed  the mix with butter goats milk and a handful of lovage.  The final result was excellent and the asparagus was as good as I remember it being last year !
