Day 102 LocalrootZ Project (April 13,2010)

Breakfast

Spicy Carrot Bean Soup 
w/Slice of Spelt Bread

w Microgreens and Cucumbers

Maple Cider Vinegar
Pesto Pizza



A nice warm meal with a fresh salad on the side.  Olivia's Garden supplied the cukes that are in my opinion the best he's had yet.  Thicker skin and crisp flesh mmmmm mixed with some salad greens from Fishbowl Farm and microgreens from Thirty Acres.  I think I even finely chopped some of their sauerkraut into the dressing too.  The pizza was a homemade pesto I made using sunflower oil olivias basil and some romano cheese from echo ridge.  On top of a Mother Oven Pita split in two.  Then that lovely Swallowtail Farm Mozzarella to top it off !  Damn

I should note another recent highlight on the homestead front is that Cassi has taken on the task of making all our cleaning supplies using natural substances such as vinegar and baking soda.  Its seems to be working very nicely and maybe she will share some of her wisdom with us in the near future !
